The MAC Unsung Heroes series features some of my favorite products from MAC’s permanent collection There are some very disturbing and frightening elements…īut it sure was a good read! And there’s a sequel coming out in a couple weeks. It’s classified as young adult, but I think it might be a little too intense for tweens who haven’t had “the talk” yet. Better than usual for the genre, and it has some interesting things to say about group thinking in a crisis. They’re forced to live in tunnels beneath NYC, hiding from “the freaks,” flesh-eating (presumably) human mutants who terrorize the post-apocalyptic surface world. In the book, she’s been trained from a young age to protect the people in her group of survivors (her enclave). If you like the genre, I think you’ll love Enclave. So, Enclave, by Ann Aguierre - highly, highly recommended.īased on how it began, I thought, “Oh, this is a total Hunger Games ripoff!” and there are some similarities - a sci-fi premise featuring a tough female lead character who’s thrust into a life-threatening situation - but I hope you give it a chance.

Oh, if you can, try to swatch Indianwood on yourself before you bring it home, just in case, as it can pull very orange on some skin tones. I wear it often as a base for many of my favorite MAC neutral Eyeshadows, like Soft Brown, Saddle and Brown Script, to name a few. Neutralize meh - When it comes to neutrals, Indianwood is like a phaser set to stun! It layers well with warm browns, beige shades, peaches and khakis.Sometimes I’ll use it as a base and layer a gemstone shade on top - just on my lids and barely into the crease - for a look that’s one part shimmery, one part smokey and two parts pretty. A precious jewel - I’ve been noticing a lot of glittering sapphires, amethysts, rubies and emeralds on beauty counters this fall, and wouldn’t ya know it? - Indianwood looks downright gorgeous with these colors!.Try it with the new MAC Powder Blush in Supercontinental, maybe with MAC Lipstick in Ravishing patted lightly on your lips. Paired with coral cheeks and lips, it’s a perfect look for weekend brunch. A golden bronze glow - Layering MAC Woodwinked Eyeshadow atop Indianwood gives eyes the most gorgeous, sexy glow.MAC Powder Blush in Supercontinental on my cheeks and MAC Lipglass in Ready to Roam on my lips both from the new Styleseeker collection Indianwood on the left, with MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque for comparison You can wear it with easy, elegant looks, like with some mascara and MAC Teddy eyeliner along your lash lines for a quick work look, or in sultry, seductive looks with false lashes and MAC Feline eyeliner along your lash and water lines. The stuff is nothing short of a minor miracle! It brightens my lids, making me look better rested, radiant and almost glowing (almost). Whenever I get up looking a little worse for wear, I like to smear this shimmery bronze cream shadow on my lids with a finger and blend out the edges with a fluffy domed eyeshadow brush (I’m partial to the MAC 217).
